This refined Hada style Tetsubin from Morioka, Japan is a wonderful size for daily use. The charcoal brown exterior has a relaxing citrus peel texture and a graduated base giving it added style. With a sturdy handle that is delightfully textured and a closed flower bud finial knob sitting atop the lid, your heated water will never taste better!

Handmade Japanese Nanbu Tetsubin, Unlined Cast Iron Water Kettle
Capture the spirit of Japanese tea preparation with this magnificent Tetsubin from Mizusawa. An alluring raised dragon surrounded by clouds coils around one side of this kettle with the remaining exterior richly decorated in a dark, charcoal brown citrus peal texture giving it a delightful organic appearance. Handmade Japanese Nanbu Tetsubin Unlined Cast Iron Water Kettle
This artisan handmade Tetsubin kettle from Morioka, Japan is elegantly decorated with raised and highly detailed sakura, or cherry blossoms. This charcoal colored Tetsubin also has sakura ringing the lid which is topped with a prominent sakura bud. The rustic, lightly textured iron handle is sturdy and very comfortable to use.

Traditional Japanese Tetsubin water kettles, including our Takusan no Sakura, are handmade in Morioka, Japan and require up to 80 steps to create. They are unlined meaning they do not have porcelain enamel linings or strainer baskets. These kettles are carefully fired at approximately 800 degrees Celsius to form a natural oxidized coating which prevents rust. As you heat water or infuse tea, an additional natural coating will form to further protect the interior of your cast iron Tetsubin. The interior has been initially tea seasoned and polished.
It is very important that your Tetsubin is allowed to fully air dry after each use.

These kettles are carefully fired at extremely high temperatures to form a natural oxidized coating (triiron tetraoxide) which prevents rust. As you heat water or infuse tea, an additional natural coating will form to further protect the interior of your cast iron Tetsubin. The interior has been initially tea seasoned and polished.
