Handmade Japanese Nanbu Tetsubin Unlined Cast Iron Water Kettle
Elegance, this handmade Nanbu Tetsubin kettle is carefully crafted with a traditional casting texture similar to citrus peel which gives it an inviting, natural feel. The look is unassuming and, at the same time, very stylish. The sturdy, upright handle has light texturing and feels great in the hand. With a great pour and stunning classic beauty, this is a Japanese kettle for generations to treasure.
This Nanbu Tetsubin iron water kettle was crafted in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, Japan and is marked by the artist under the spout.
**Note - the handle does NOT fold down.**
Traditional Japanese Tetsubin water kettles, including our Eregansu, are unlined meaning they do not have porcelain enamel linings or strainer baskets.
As you heat water, or infuse tea, a natural coating (or patina) will form to protect the interior of your cast iron water kettle. It is important your Tetsubin is allowed to fully air dry after each use. The Eregansu is marked by the artist under the spout.
